Community Medical Clinic--Day 1

Well, we did it! First day of clinic ran quite smoothly, especially when we found our rhythm in the afternoon. We saw 120 patients today, between 7:30 am and 6 pm. Only a few cases were intriguing, as most were routine chronic and common illnesses. I will share photos and impressions as the week goes on. I thoroughly enjoyed my place on this team as a "nurse". Sylvia, my volunteer Kenyan interpreter, was awesome. She has quite a story of her own--age 59 in two weeks, 6 grown kids, two living in the US, 5 grandkids, an elder in her PCEA church, retired special ed teacher, two kids in Biomedicine here in Nairobi...

I'm tired! Must sleep now. Tomorrow is coming soon...fun, fun, fun!

Nice blog! I'm glad you get to participate in the medical clinic. Didn't know you're thinking about nursing school, though. Keep up the good work!
