Whew! What a whirlwind two weeks it has been. We saw 1202 patients in 8 full days. I will write more about the patients and show pictures soon. There were many sad stories, but also some uplifting ones. Here are some of the staff volunteers, both missionaries (white folks) and Kenyans. Sylvia, my sweet interpreter, stands next to me in two group pics. Sospeterson, an African artist stands with me in another. I also included a snapshot of two of his paintings that sold to Americans in galleries here.Zipporah and Richard are seen in the pharmacy. Sue is the lab tech from Arlington who ran thousands of test results. I believe there were a total of 14 positive HIV blood tests, adults and children combined. In one photo, two Kenyans are leading singing in Kiswahili language during our morning devotionals with the patients. In another, Dr. Bonnie is delivering a message of hope from Psalms, with Edward, the interpreter.
Oh, by the way. The next quarterly 2-week clinic that Dr. Dan has scheduled begins June 4th. Volunteers from the states are welcome to help, regardless of medical experience or lack thereof. Anyone interested?
